I would like to personally thank everyone who has bought the book; its popularity has been much greater than I expected. I had excellent material to start with. This is my second collaboration with Steve Sagman, author of dozens of computer books, and it's part of Peachpit Press' superb Visual Quickstart Guide series. Steve came to me originally to adapt his very successful Visual Quickstart Guide on an earlier version of MS Office for Windows to the Macintosh. That was enough of a success that when Microsoft released Office 98 for the Mac, we switched roles and I became primary author. Steve did the layout and supplied the invaluable experience of a seasoned author, and I supplied 14 years of experience supporting users of Macintosh and all the Mac versions of the Office programs. I'm on a first-name basis with everyone at Microsoft tech support!
