Synopsis
Volume I of the Later Poems of John Clare, 1837-1864, covers the poems written at Epping, Northborough and the Northampton Asylum. As with other volumes in the edition, many of the poems have never before been published, and Clare's spelling, punctuation, grammar, and vocabulary have all been carefully preserved.
