Synopsis
This dictionary, the latest volume in the successful RMS Microscopy Handbook series, describes the origins and meanings of words currently used in the field of light microscopy. Synopsis
This is a dictionary which describes the origins and meanings of words currently in usage in the field of light microscopy. It takes into account international standards and contains many cross references. Some quantitative microscopy and photometry terms have also been included. It is hoped that the recommended terms will be used in manufacturers' publications, on teaching courses and in scientific papers, and that the book will be of interest to light microscopists in the fields of biology, botany, materials science, metallurgy and crystallography.
