Synopsis
A sequel to the two highly-acclaimed volumes devoted to the early paintings of Delacroix, these volumes discuss and illustrate all the movable paintings and private decorations from the year of Delacroix's journey to Morocco, up to his death in 1863. The volume of plates contains illustrations of many previously unreproduced paintings, and the text is also generously illustrated with comparative drawings, prints and paintings.

Volume IV (Plates) is in very good condition with just a touch of wear to dust jacket. Volume III (Text) is in Good condition. The book had had a clean long cut along the cloth part of the book vertically along the spine, but it has been professionally reapaired. Dust jacket was also cut, but has been tape-repaired and is in a protective myllar cover. A good reading copy of this significant artist.
