Synopsis

By looking at issues associated with regional development, transport population distribution and large cities, this volume demonstrates how the space economy responded to the economic reforms, as well as acting as a "shock absorber". The text contains essays by Chinese scholars and Western specialists - consultants, development practitioners and scholars - with experience of Asian and regional urban development.
