Synopsis
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance is used by both physicists and chemists to determine the structure and behaviour of solid materials. This book, for advanced undergraduates and graduate students in both disciplines, aims to provide substantial information on a particular spectroscopic experiment, the cross-polarization (CP) magic angle spinning (MAS) experiment, which is used to obtain rare-spin, high resolution NMR spectra. The text explains clearly the underlying principles of NMR, as well as those involved in this particular experimental method. It can be used by either the student or the working spectroscopist needing to learn the underlying principles of the laboratory experiments they are using.

To say that the appearance of a book on the fundamentals of CP/MAS is timely would be a gross understatement ... this is an excellent book and should be read carefully, and understood, by all practitioners of CP/MAS NMT spectroscopy.
