BASIC HANDWRITING IN ENGLISH is a short systematic course in letter formation and the linking of letters to form words. It is designed for learners who are unfamiliar with the English alphabet, but who are able to write successfully using their own script. It has the limited aim of teaching writing as an isolated skill. The program moves systematically from patterns and linking devices, through individual letters to the formation of words. The program has been designed and ordered with the problems of Arab learners in mind, such as the movement from left to right, ligatures, ascenders, and descenders.
