The tooth fairy comes to life--in letters.
Does the Tooth Fairy know where you are when you're on vacation? Can she do other things besides swap money for teeth? How about fix up a father's job? Find a girl a new best friend?
The idea for The T.F. Letters came about when we were on vacation and my daughter lost a tooth. She was afraid the tooth fairy might not come. (Though of course she did!) This got me thinking about how a child and the tooth fairy might come to have a relationship, via under-the-pillow letters. And how it might be easier, sometimes, to talk to a tooth fairy than to a parent.
It was fun to develop the story so that the letters and the teeth being lost were an important and integral part of the story. The T.F., although some think she only appears in letter form, is also a real character. And I was careful to drop enough hints for those who want to know, but not absolutely give everything away for those who still want to believe.
