Not just for kids with special needs!!!!
My son was born with Down Syndrome. When he was 1 year old, our speech therapist recommended that we try using sign language with him. In less than a year, Willy was using over 40 American Sign Language signs everyday, and communicating things that he had never been able to verbalize. This book is my way of saying thank you to a form of communication that allowed me to communicate with my son! I realized when he had such success with these visual symbols, that visual learners of all mental levels would benefit and simply enjoy Sign Language as they enjoy finger-plays like Eentsy-weentsy spider. The words in this book, as in the upcoming sequel avvailable in February, are word signs which do not need any spelling skills, making it accessible to very young children.
