From the Author

Explanation
I am not surprised at any of your comments, in fact I share many of them. The problem is the book was never meant to be a developers book. Of course it's not. There are hardly any code examples in it. A developers book is something with meat, this had none. The book is way out of date. The servlet api has moved on so much that anyone reading the book after Jan98 is simply wasting their time. Its over 18months out of date. So most of those comments are null'n'void on that basis.

The book was intended as an introduction to Servlets, and nothing more. It was never meant to be an end-to-end tutorial.

So for all those buying it with that intention, we apologise.

Please refer to my latest offering, which *is* a developers book and is aimed squarely at those wishing to get to grips with Java Servlets. You will not be disappointed.
