Synopsis
With increasing student numbers and greater diversity within the student population, sociology lecturers are inevitably looking for new books that will help them teach. The student is encouraged to engage with the subject through a variety of pedagogical features such as opening vignettes, boxes and critical thinking questions. Furthermore with a `Going Further' resources section, the student is enticed to study the subject in more depth with lists of introductory and classic readings, as well as journals and specific websites and addresses of relevant research institutes.
