Synopsis
There has long been the need for a good exposition of mathematical computer programs and a guide to the construction and testing of such routines. There is a large number of inefficient and inaccurate computer codes being produced, and this work will help by giving good codes for many functions and methods for attacking others. The author has directed the text at programmers and engineers with a need for special functions, which are not readily available in computer language run time laboratories. He presents around 100 computer program listings which cover the elementary algebraic and exponential functions, commonly needed probability integrals, and higher transcendental functions. For functions not listed, the reader can construct serviceable routines guided by this text and the sample routines.
