For DC/AC Fundamentals and Basic Circuits courses.
Part of the popular Science of Electronics series, DC/AC presents clear and comprehensive coverage of fundamental elements of DC/AC circuits with a strong emphasis on the science and necessary math. Basic electronics concepts are well supported by many worked out examples and illustrations. Instruments such as digital oscilloscopes (as well as the analog scope) and the function generator are covered in detail. In addition to passive circuit coverage, there are discussions of programmable logic controllers, motors, and generators, as well as other devices.
Science Highlights provide a look at scientific advances in an area that is closely related to the coverage in that chapter. Safety Notes, which appear in the margins throughout the text, give students valuable hints and information concerning safety issues when working with electrical systems. On the Job tips provide students with excellent information and material regarding their future careers. Computer Simulation and Troubleshooting Practice problems allow students to actually view circuit operations or find faults in a given circuit.
