She has 32 years experience as a dental hygiene practitioner and 28 as an instructor. She developed and directed Indiana University's dental hygiene program and is extensively involved with state and local professional organizations.
Mary Danusis Cooper has been an instructor in the Dental Hygiene Program at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne since 1979. She remains active in clinical practice as a volunteer at Matthew 25 Health/Dental Clinic-a clinic for the indigent in Fort Wayne. As a tenured Full Professor, her responsibilities include teaching Preventive Dentistry, Nutrition, Oral Anatomy/Histology, Medical Emergencies, Clinic Seminar, and Senior Hygiene Seminar.
