The authors develop a new logic programming TS-PROLOG, an extension of PROLOG that allows the use of design simulation programs for analyzing and synthesizing continuous and discrete systems of high complexity. This allows the use of logic-based AI results in simulation. The theory provides a compatible system theory, as a constructive alternative to the well-known system theory: a logic simulation language is suggested, realised by the use of definitive Horn clauses, SL resolution rule and depth-first strategy with appropriate selection function. It will be of interest to researchers and practitioners dealing with simulation of complex systems.
