Emerging Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage presents the state-of-art of emerging materials for energy conversion technologies (solar cells and fuel cells) and energy storage technologies (batteries, supercapacitors and hydrogen storage). The book is organized into five primary sections, each with three chapters authored by worldwide experts in the fields of materials science, physics, chemistry and engineering. It covers the fundamentals, functionalities, challenges and prospects of different classes of emerging materials, such as wide bandgap semiconductors, oxides, carbon-based nanostructures, advanced ceramics, chalcogenide nanostructures, and flexible organic electronics nanomaterials.
The book is an important reference for students and researchers (from academics, but also industry) interested in understanding the properties of emerging materials.

Kuan Yew Cheong is a Professor in the School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He specializes in semiconductor materials, electronic packaging, nanomaterials, and surface engineering, recognized as a top 2% researcher in applied physics/materials (2023). He has contributed to research on bio-organic-based memory to address e-waste.
Giuliana Impellizzeri earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Catania in 2004. She has served as Research Director at the Italian National Research Council (CNR) since 2023 and has worked at CNR's Institute of Microelectronics and Microsystems (IMM) since 2004. She leads a research group working on advanced nanomaterials for wastewater treatment. She has experience in atomic layer deposition (ALD), molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), ion implantation, and photocatalytic, structural and electrical properties of semiconductor-based materials. Her research activity is mainly focused on nanostructured photocatalytic semiconductors (e.g. TiO2 and ZnO) for application s in water treatment. She is also expert in micro and nanoelectronics, in particular in electrical activation ad diffusion of dopants in crystalline silicon and germanium.
Prof. Mariana Amorim Fraga is a Professor at the Electrical Engineering Program, Mackenzie Presbyterian University, Brazil. Leader of the Photovoltaic Sensors and Devices research group. She was a Visiting Professor at the Biomedical Engineering Program, Federal University of São
Paulo (UNIFESP, Brazil). She obtained her MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil) and her PhD in Aeronautics and Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA, Brazil). Her research interests are in the materials science and engineering areas, mainly on the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials for the development of sensors, electronic devices and energy technologies."About this title" may belong to another edition of this title.
