Synopsis
What is vision? This is the question that Understanding Vision addresses from the outset. Watt develops the answer in such a way that the student new to vision will close the book with a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of vision. The book also presents a novel framework for understanding vision wich will stimulate those already familiar with research in this field. It explains the relationship between modern studies of machine and human vision, and stresses the idea of the component visual system. Most chapters contain exercises and suggestions for further reading.
