This book is divided into four main themes. The introductory theme is a brief general overview of the role of nutrition in human health. The second section presents various types of physical exercises including cardiovascular training, resistance training, aerobic and anaerobic exercises, bioenergetics and energy balance and the nutritional requirements associated with these various fitness programs.as well as exercise and nutritional requirements in special populations including the pre-pubertal, young, elderly and disabled. Section 3 focuses specifically on sports and nutritional requirements. The molecular mechanisms involved in muscle building are the theme of Section 4.
