Synopsis
In the 1940s military and civil aircraft were relatively simple and uncomplicated, as were their avionics systems. The intervening period and the last decade, in particular, have witnessed a tremendous growth in the capability and performance of aircraft designs which includes significant nonlinear features in their aerodynamic and propulsion characteristics. Parallel advances are occurring in military aircraft avionics systems. As military aircraft sensor systems become increasingly more powerful, their sensor data is being "fused". Other advanced trends of impressive proportions are also occurring. This volume focuses on advances in aeronautical systems dynamics and control.
