Synopsis
These regulations, based on the 1974 Health and Safety at Work Act, set out some broad general duties which will apply to almost all knids of work. This supporting Approved Code of Practice reinforces the aims of the Regulations to improve health and safety management. The guide provides advice for employers on complying with the Regulations' requirements to assess risks; protective and preventative measures that follow from the risk assessments; carry out health surveillance (where appropriate); set up emergency procedures; and provide employees with information and training about workplace health and safety.
