Synopsis
Farmers, commercial crop growers and those who provide advice or practical assistance (such as agricultural contractors) will find this code of use. The different aspects of the use of pesticides are dealt with from the point of view of whoever carries them out. Everyone involved with pesticides has responsibilities under FEPA, and COSHH puts additional duties on employers and the self-employed. As this is the first edition of the Code of Practice, included with the publication are additional leaflets and posters from the Health and Safety Executive and MAFF. With greater public awareness and increased action by environmental pressure groups this published Code will possibly provoke widespread interest, and encourage greater vigilance on the use of pesticides.
