Synopsis
Three princes - one fat, one vain, and one thoughtful - are ordered by their mother the Queen to find themselves brides. The first two find themselves brides to be, and the thoughtful one finds himself a frog. But not all is at it seems when the Queen sets tasks for the brides to see who will rule.

Review
The story opens with scenes of over indulgence, flamboyant dressing, daydreaming, a fussy mother and sibling rivalry. Is this a setting in a Hollywood film? No, just the beginning of an old-fashioned story, but on this occasion one about a frog princess, not a frog prince. The story has witty text and the illustrations certainly complement it.
The Prince finds a wife, wins the kingdom, they are crowned King and Queen and dancing and feasting follows for nine days and nine nights. Emma Chichester Clark is a previous winner of the Mother Goose Award. (Ages 4-8) --Susan Naylor
