Synopsis

All day long the baker's cat toils in the bakery and all night he is expected to catch the mice that run riot in the storeroom. About the Author

Born in Berkshire Posy Simmonds studied French at the Sorbonne before returning to England to attend art school. In the early seventies Posy produced a daily cartoon in The Sun but she is best known for her regular cartoon series in The Guardian during the eighties. In 1987, she embarked on a new career in children's picture books and has produced several best-selling titles including Fred, Lulu and the Flying Babies and F-Freezing ABC. In 2002, Posy received an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to the newspaper industry.
