This book comprises 150 species of rare wild flowers in Britain, each with a colour illustration, a description of the plant itself, and where to find it, though the author is careful not to reveal the habitats of our rarest species. A comprehensive list is given of local Wildlife Trusts through which information can usually be obtained about local conditions - as for instance on whether the season is "forward" of "backward", as well as on applications for permits and parking. The author also wrote "The Origin of Garden Plants".
