The structures are related to their manifestation on geological maps, and photographs are included to emphasize the similarities between structures at outcrop scale and on the scale of a map. Worked examples are given to assist with the solution of the exercises provided. Emphasis is placed throughout the text on developing the skill of three-dimensional visualization.
