Designed for courses in early childhood curriculum, Krogh and Morehouse offers detailed instruction on making an inquiry and integration approach to early education work. Part One provides a foundation in theory, philosophy, research, and child development―the knowledge future teachers will need to create effective curriculum on their own. Part Two present an entire chapter devoted to each major curriculum area, organized around the standards developed by the relevant national association. The “how to” format and inclusion of actual classroom projects and artifacts make this a truly practical and engaging text.

"The authors have a long and successful history of guiding teachers’ understanding and implementation of best practices by drawing from the most up-to-date research and influential institutions in the early childhood field. The well-developed and easy-to-read content in the chapters provides practical examples of how teachers build inquiry-based learning experiences by weaving three main dynamics: the inquisitive learners, an engaging and meaningful curriculum, and providing a child-centered environment. Short scenarios of real classroom situations throughout each chapter bring to life the natural ways children learn through inquiry; enriched through collaboration with peers and from guidance by adults specifically prepared in early childhood education. Early childhood teachers will want to keep this book as a reference for years to come."
--Lynn C. Hartle, Ph.D., Professor of Education, The Pennsylvania State University, Brandywine
