Synopsis

As a concise introduction to politics, this text is an introduction to political science from a comparative perspective, analyzing governmental structures around the world. The text includes country studies, a glossary, and web links to sites on the Internet for each chapter. Updates in this edition discuss the continuing developments in post-communist countries, reflecting the realities of change vs. the early hopes in the west for the domination of democracy and capitalism.
