About the Authors

Kathy Ivens has been a computer consultant since 1984, and several years ago she began writing books. She has authored, co-authored, contributed to, and ghost written more than forty volumes on computer subjects.  Kathy is a frequent contributor to national magazines on computer topics, writing reviews and articles, and is a contributing editor for Windows 2000 Magazine and Windows NT Magazine.  She is the author of QuickBooks 2002: The Official Guide, Windows 2000: The Complete Reference among many other best-selling McGraw-Hill/Osborne titles.

Kenton Gardinier, a technical account manager and trusted advisor at VMware, has designed, implemented, and managed technical and business driven solutions for organizations of all sizes around the world for over 12 years, including early adopter engagements. Kenton is an internationally recognized author and public speaker. He has authored, co-authored, and contributed to several books on security, performance tuning, systems management, operating systems, messaging, and administration. Kenton has also served as an advisory board member for many organizations. He holds many certifications including VCP, CISSP, ITIL, MCSE, and MCSA.
