The book provides step-by-step explanations of how to solve many kinds of word problems typically encountered in high school chemistry courses. "How to Solve Word Problems in Chemistry" offers detailed, easy-to-follow instruction in procedures for solving word problems, with an emphasis on the mechanics and grammar of problem-solving. The book can be used independently or in conjunction with any of the standard chemistry texts on either the high school, community college, or freshman university level. A high school chemistry course contains a vast amount of material to be covered by the classroom teacher, including many difficult concepts, laboratory experiments, and the solving of word problems. The classroom teacher does not have the time to go through all of the basic steps in solving word problems, with enough repetition for the average student.Often, after seeing just a few solved examples in class, the student is sent home with homework problems that cause them to have great anxiety and frustration. About the Author
Dr. Goldberg is the author of two volumes of the well-known and well-respected Schaum's Outline Series: Schaum's Outline for Chemistry Foundation and Schaum's 3000 Solved Problems in Chemistry. Dr. Goldberg has also authored chemistry and computer language texts for Prentice Hall, McGraw-Hill, and Macmillan.
