Synopsis

This book provides problem-solving techniques ideal for students and young engineers just starting out in the their careersEach subtopic under Electronics is addressed in a separate section and begins with a brief explanation of the topic. Then the math derivations are provided. This information does not intend to teach the topic but rather provides a reference to the topic. After the derivations 5 fully worked out problems and 5 practice problems make use of practical issues forcing the reader to look at the same problem from various angles, thereby driving home the problem-solving technique

THE PERFECT TOOL FOR SHARPENING SKILLS

Knowing theory isn't enough. Electronics engineers need to solve complex problems, day after day. Whether you're in your first month on the job or your tenth year, or still in the classroom, problem-solving techniques are a survival necessity. Based on McGraw-Hill's and Donald Christiansen's Electronics Engineers' Handbook, the most widely used reference in the field, this unique refresher course/self-teaching tool/skill builder can help you:

-Hone problem-solving skills with 100s of solved and practice examples that force you to approach problems from different angles

-Survive the 'weeding-out' freshman and sophomore years of engineering when you must prove you can handle the math

-Polish and improve your most valuable engineering asset: problem-solving techniques

-Build skills in all core areas: DC/AC circuits; solid state devices; applied math; and digital electronics

-Review topics in brief and mathematical derivations in full

-Get 5 fully worked and 5 practice problems for each topic

-Target areas of difficulty

Problem sets that build a foundation in electronics engineering
