Now it's quick and easy to prepare for your NetWare 5 CNA.
Writing a book to meet all reader's needs is always a challenge. This particular book assumes readers know little or nothing about NetWare 5, but still want to pass the NetWare 5 Admin exam and obtain their NetWare 5 CNA. This book was written to help you do just that as quickly and easily as possible. Thus, although I expand on some things that I believed absolutely needed more info, the book's size doesn't allow me to expand on everything. In addition, the book's size and price doesn't allow me to cover the NetWare 5 Advanced Admin test material, which is why it frequently refers to the Accelerated NetWare 5 CNE Study Guide. The NetWare 5 Advanced Admin test material is covered in that book. (It really was designed that way to help you know where to find the advanced info, not primarily to sell the book. Sorry if it appears that way.)

If you haven't already noticed, the Exam numbers on the covers of the first printings of these two books no longer match the Novell exam numbers. That is because Novell has a policy that requires a review of each new exam 90 days after the exam's initial release. If substantial problems are found with the exam at that time, they rewrite the exam and re-release it with a different exam number. In this case, Novell did find many errors in the exam. Most of those errors were due to the fact that the original course manual had many errors in it. Thus, Novell rewrote the exam, and re-released it with a new number. Reprints of both of my books will have the new exam numbers on the cover. However, with a lead time of up to 90 days before the actual release of the tests for producing these books, the first printing of them had to contain the original exam numbers.

To reassure you that the content of the book is in fact technically accurate, however, I want you to know that an experienced, highly-qualified Novell employee did the technical review of my book in addition to the full technical review both she and I did to the Novell instructor manuals for both the NetWare 5 Admin and the NetWare 5 Advanced Admin courses. During our reviews, we found many errors in those manuals. As a result, Novell revised both course manuals, and has subsequently revised at least one of the tests. The Novell employee who did the technical review of my CNA and CNE books and I made sure that these two books contained the correct information. We did not simply mirror the incorrect content of the course manuals. While writing and reviewing these two Accelerated series books, the technical reviewer and I both performed all of the procedures the course was teaching. In other words, we set up printing, created users, upgraded servers, etc. That is how we knew there were so many errors in the original course manuals. We put the correct information in the Accelerated NetWare 5 CNA Study Guide, and the Accelerated NetWare 5 CNE Study Guide, then notified the course's authors of the errors in their course.

So, please accept my apology if the test numbers caused any confusion. You will find, however, that the books' content does match the courses and tests (with the new numbers) now that Novell has corrected the errors in them.
