Managing Change: Text and Cases, 2nd Edition, by Todd Jick and Maury Peiperl is a thoroughly revised version of a well-received volume on the scholarship of change in organizations. It is comprised of six modules that introduce common threads in the ensuing case studies and readings on organizational change. Of the 48 items in this book, 31 are new to this edition. The module introductions have been thoroughly revised; one modular introduction (Module 6, Continuous Change) is brand new.

All new readings, including some from media sources not used in the 1st edition (e.g., FastCompany, Internet World), update the text and give students current information on topics relevant to the issues they will face as managers.
Many completely new case studies (some never before published in a textbook - for example, Beta and Psi in Module 2) also populate the text with up-to-date materials.
Completely new module (6) entitled Continuous Change uses current cases and readings to relay to students that organizational change is a recurring phenomenon and not a one-time situation.
Module 5 has been renamed Leading Change: The Personal Side because the majority of the case studies and readings in the module shed light on the individual general manager's role in affecting change in their organizations, pointing out to students that not all change is implemented or handled by a team or committee.
Authors continue with a rigorous framework for examining organizational change in the 2nd edition.
Several case studies are marked as Change Classic Cases as they are central to the scholarship of organizational change.

SYNOPSIS: Managing Change: Cases and Concepts, 3e by Todd Jick and Maury Peiperl is comprised of six modules that introduce common threads in the ensuing case studies and readings on organizational change. The materials in this edition--cases and readings--have been chosen and arranged to introduce change as an integrated process. Cases in the text represent a wide variety of change situations. Accompanying many cases are readings, likewise chosen to reflect a broad range of issues. Some readings provide theoretical underpinnings for a case, supporting the action: others challenge the action with alternative viewpoints. Still others provide broader context--views of the changing world, for example, or commentaries on how we look at change; ideas that go well beyond the issues in any particular case.
