Synopsis
This flexible two-volume anthology of primary, secondary and visual sources provides a broad introduction to the evolution of World Civilizations from ancient history to 1700. A wide selection of short documents, photographs, maps and charts is presented along with introduction, commentaries, guides, and questions designed to clarify the material and stimulate discussion. The reader is organized chronologically and regionally, and offers an alternate topic table of contents. This anthology gives students the insight into how historians use evidnece and make interpretations that underlie our understanding of World Civilizations.
