Faced with one misfortune after another, Zamperini could have given up a thousand times. Instead he chose to turn every hardship into a challenge—and a challenge he would overcome. Even after the perils of World War II were well behind him, Zamperini continued to find adventure at every turn—from crashing weddings, to standing up to Frank Sinatra in a fight, to getting mixed up in a bank robbery. Today, at 97 years old, he’s happy, sharp-minded, and healthy. His secrets of success are simple, yet essential. In DON’T GIVE UP, DON’T GIVE IN, he teaches us how his relationship with God, his ever-positive attitude, his constant pursuit of accomplishment—and a healthy dose of mischief—have helped him lead the long and fulfilled life he looks back on today.
