I first got the idea for this book while browsing through the self-help section of a bookstore in the USA, (I'm a total sucker for any book which promises me I can change my life around in seven days. Too gullible, that's my trouble.) Anyway, I stumbled on a book called, The Program, How To Find A Husband Over The Age of Thirty Five, which immediately caught my eye. It was all about applying the marketing principles taught at Harvard Business School to your love life and it pretty much guaranteed that you'd find love and marriage within a year. One of the suggestions it made was to revisit all of your ex-boyfriends, yes, all of them, the idea being, you figure out where you're going wrong in your love life, then correct whatever mistakes you're repeating, so you can move forward. Are you making bad choices or settling for 'Mr, Ah Sure He'll Do' all the time....that type of thing. So I got to thinking, what fun it would be to follow a character on this journey through her entire past dating history. A chartacter who has everything else in life going for her; fab job, great friends, financial security, but who just never met HIM along the way. At least, not yet.....
