OH HAND OF GLORY SHED THY LIGHT,
LET THOSE IT TOUCHES START AWAKE ...
In his preparation room deep in the old part of Norwich taxidermist Ludo Strewth chants the ancient spell of resurrection. As the magic Hand of Glory burns, a great flash of light leaps out across the city. It awakens Strewth’s collection of animals, it refracts through the windows of the Elm Hill Museum, where exhibits of soldiers stand frozen in time, and it illuminates the lovely face of American model Tuppence Trilby, striking Strewth with a madness to possess and preserve her beauty.
What or who can protect her? Not the spells carved in the door of her Watchgate house, not even the soldiers summoned to her aid, not even Dec Winner, the volunteer fireman who saves her life and touches her heart.
The answer lies beyond all these. For Ludo Strewth has awoken an evil greater than even he imagined ...
Mike Jefferies was brought up on a cattle station in Australia, worked his way through art school in London, sleeping rough for lack of a grant. After gaining his degree he worked in commercial art for a while, then carved rocking horses but became bored and learned to ride. He was later selected for the British 3-Day Event Team. Despite his dyslexia, he has now written ten novels.
