Searoad is a sandy track that runs between the small town of Klatsand and the Pacific Ocean. Klatsand – once a sparsely populated creek, now a seaside resort – represents many of the best and worst aspects of an American life that has almost been destroyed by fast food chains and freeways throughout the rest of the country. Klatsand is cut off – but not from life itself.
In this collection of intense and memorable stories, told by three generations of Klatsand women, the lives of those who live there, and those who simply pass through, are ingeniously woven together.
