Appropriate for introductory courses in Differential Equations.
This clear, concise fairly easy classic text is particularly well-suited to courses that emphasize finding solutions to differential equations where applications play an important role. Many illustrative examples in each chapter help the student to understand the subject. Computer applications new to this edition.

This text is designed for courses that emphasize finding solutions of differential equations where applications play an important role. The new edition includes a revised development of linear equations and a derivation of Kepler's laws from Newton's laws of gravitation. The treatment of numerical methods has been revised and expanded exercise sets give the instructor more flexibility in assigning problems.
In publishing a new edition of Elementary Differential Equations, we have two main goals. First, we hope to maintain the direct style that users of earlier editions have come to expect. Secondly, in response to changes in the nature of many differential equations courses, we have added some new geometric material, reorganized some sections, and added a computer component to the text.
