Synopsis
This text contains the 10 plant and service "tours" from the 5th edition of Schmenner's "Production/Operations Management" 5th edition. The tours give students a close look at internal operations in 10 different US manufacturing and service companies, from an International Paper Company to a Burger King franchise. The tours are divided into description and discussion sections and are illustrated with on-site photographs, operations layouts, schedules, flow charts, inventories and other working records. Each tour concludes with discussion questions and several related case exercises.
