The Face in the Abyss is a grand book with a grand cast of characters. Visualize a monstrous head that cries tears of gold, locked deep in a cavern out of time forgotten. For this particular edition, the artistic talents of Ned Dameron have been obtained for twenty illustrations, most in full color, many as double-spread to complement this wonderful tale. The images perfectly mesh with Merritt's fantasy.
