He became a Teacher Fellow in Engineering in 1983 after spending a term working on the first undersea optical fibre system. David has been an A level examiner for OCR for over thirty years as well as working for other boards as an examiner and moderator in GCSE Science and Electronics. He is currently the Teacher Network Co-ordinator for the Institute of Physics covering West Wales.
