The Code of Canon Law is the Roman Catholic Church’s law book. It covers every aspect of Church life from the role and requirements of the priesthood and other offices with the Church, rules of conduct for church services and teaching, to laws governing church property and marriage requirements.
Every priest and bishop learns it, and increasing numbers of ordinary people are turning to it in their theological studies and pastoral work. It is an essential item on the shelf of every parish church, college and seminary. Lawyers with the Church and civil lawyers taking on cases which involve the Church will always need ready access to a copy.
This Code was completely revised in the 1970s and first published in 1983. The Canon Law Society has revised its text several times since then and is now making their updated text available.
