Synopsis

The first instalment of an exciting NEW series from the author of The Wyrd Museum Trilogy and The Deptford Mice.

Robin Jarvis’s latest creation is a world set in an alternate past – in a genre that can only be described as Scyence Fyctione! This strangely familiar Britain consists of ninety-three individual ‘blessed isles’ floating in the deep darkness and the story begins in December in the Gloriana Kalendar, when Elizabeth Tudor has reigned for one hundred and seventy-eight years.
Into this world – a place with no animals and little technology – comes a stranger, Brindle. No one knows where he’s from, or how he’s arrived. But he brings strange implements and practices, and he’s about to change things forever…

About the Author

Robin Jarvis was born in Liverpool and grew up in Warrington. After a degree course in graphic design he worked in television making model monsters and puppets. In due course he created characters of his own which inspired him to start writing about them. He swiftly acquired a reputation as one of today’s most popular storytellers with his bestselling Deptford Mice series.

From the Back Cover

Across the stark heavens the mysterious objects came blazing , swerving and spinning in all direction, growing larger with every passing moment. Intense flashes of light flared and spangled around its surface, scribing a bright, wavering path through the darkness. Though it tumbled erratically, the object was plunging towards Malmes-Wutton. There was no time to panic, no time to raise an alarm

Out in the deep darkness float the ninety-three isles of the beatified realm of Britain. Elizabeth Tudor is celebrating her one hundred and seventy-eighth year on the throne of Englandia. Into this world – a place with no living animals and arcane technology – appears a visitor, bringing with him strange devices and sinister practices. He's about to change things forever…
