Emphasising the overall design focus that accompanies software development, this book provides a tutorial for programming embedded applications. The text is designed to help professionals "get up to speed" using the C language, to switch over to the 8051 for some new design and begin to put multitasking into design. The specific examples are all provided in three languages. Features include description and explanation of looping and branching, 8051 family hardware and pointers and based variables.
From the Author:
Only coverage of PL/M 51
While this may be going out of print, it is the only book focussing on PL/M (Intel's high-level language for the 8051 family) as well as assembly and C. It is aimed for the professional market, but has been used in a few classes. The newly-released second edition is more focussed on hardware and includes more on assembly language. It may be more suitable for classes in microcontrollers.
