7 beschrijvingen gebonden met rood llint, samen in box, 180 x 245mm. ISBN 9789085865315. Het Middelheimmuseum verwierf in 1978 de Zonnewagen van Camiel Van Breedam. In 2009 krijgt het Middelheimmuseum de gelegenheid om dit werk te kaderen binnen de rest van het oeuvre van de kunstenaar. Camiel Van Breedam (? 1936) is met hart en ziel verknocht aan zijn geboorteplaats Boom en de Rupelstreek, maar in zijn scheppend werk blijft hij met de wijde wereld verbonden. De kunst van Camiel Van Breedam steekt vol intriges en relaties en geeft niet direct zijn geheimen bloot. Waar vroeger een barok karakter zijn werk kenmerkte, valt de laatste jaren een opmerkelijke soberheid op. De composities werden strakker en logischer. In de loop van zijn carriere vonden er creatieve verschuivingen plaats. Er ontstonden assemblages, eerst in hout en diverse andere reeds gebruikte materialen, later monumentale sculpturen in Cortenstaal en lood, tenslotte collages precieus in kastjes gepresenteerd. Gedurende enkele jaren exploreerde de kunstenaar de mogelijkheden van wit, hier en daar wordt een toets kleur aangebracht. Vandaag merken we vooral composities op in hout die luchtig, fragiel en doorzichtig zijn. Sommige worden best niet of zeer voorzichtig aangeraakt, alleen al vanwege het precieuze van de stille aftakeling: het pure en fragiele op zich. Camiel Van Breedam is een overtuigd recyclage-kunstenaar en -mens. De aandacht en liefde voor het materiaal in zijn oorspronkelijke vorm spreekt uit zijn werken: de robuuste boom die moet omgekapt worden, een ambachtelijk werktuig dat verdwijnt. Camiel Van Breedams werken getuigen van een innig, elegisch karakter dat in de hedendaagse beeldende kunst niet zoveel voorkomt, maar eerder eigen is aan de literatuur. Bij hem zien we de recuperatie en assemblage van materialen waarin de aangename herinnering aan hetgeen men vroeger bezat, afwisselt met de treurigheid om het verlies ervan. Vooral in zijn laatste werken wordt deze sfeer fragiel benaderd. Zijn werk bestaat uit groepen die chronologisch zijn ontstaan en zoveel als mogelijk chronologisch worden getoond. De tentoonstelling en de catalogus presenteren werken van 1988 tot 2008. Jean-Pierre Rondas' tekst roept bij de liefhebber herkenning op voor de rake vergelijkingen die hij schetst in zijn toegankelijke taal. Hij presenteert de werken tijdens be- en verwondering tegen een nieuwe achtergrond. De groepering van de werken en het getal 7, dat voor Camiel Van Breedam een bijzondere betekenis heeft, wordt door Rondas aangegrepen als "rode" draad. De kunstliefhebber kan zich in de tentoonstelling dankzij de opstelling en aan de hand van de catalogus overtuigen van de evolutie van de kunstenaar en zijn werk in de laatste decennia. De vormgeving van de catalogus wordt door de kunstenaar als een surplus beschouwd, het fotomateriaal is van fotograaf Roger Minnaert en de vormgever is Nej De Doncker. Bij Camiel Van Breedam wordt een bibliofiel verantwoorde, ambachtelijk gecreeerde uitgave hoog in het vaandel gevoerd. Bij hem geen gadgets maar een mooie, klare uitvoering voor de catalogus. The books that are offered online are not available at our bookshop at 48 Kloosterstraat.
You will receive an e-mail confirming the availability of the book(s) and providing details with regard to shipment costs (we use Belgian and Dutch postal companies for the most cost-effective shipments.
The indicated shipment costs have been calculated according to the rates for shipments of up to 2 kilo. We will choose the most cost-effective shipment option, depending on the weight: either letter post or parcel post.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to BOOKSELLER - ERIK TONEN BOOKS, Antwerpen, Belgium, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within 3 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 4.2 LB, or 2 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. ;
