M. Prokhorov "This volume contains the invited papers presented at the Sixth International Conference on Atomic Physics held in Riga, USSR, August 17-22, 1978. The VI ICAP marks the rapid development in the field of atomic physics including parity violation in atomic processes, new techniques in laser spectroscopy, studies of highly excited Rydberg states. Alongside with such comparatively new problems as spectra of highly ionized atoms, quantum beats, anticrossing spectroscopy and mesic processes, recent investigations of atomic and ionic structures and electron and atomic collisions, as well as applications in astrophysics have been critically analysed at the Conference."
