Do you want to learn to play the banjo and play it well? If so, this is the perfect book to learn from. With detailed, step-by-step guidance, 49 sing-along tablatures, 51 solos, and 13 tutorials, you will be playing really fine banjo before you know it!
But doesn't learning the banjo require lots of practice time? Not if you learn accessible techniques. The infectious, galloping banjo style that consummate folk singer Pete Seeger played so well is fully embraced and clearly taught in this book. You can learn it even if your time is very limited. You can learn it even if you have no music background!
This banjo style is so complete that you will sound good whether you are playing with others or are playing all by yourself. You can accompany your singing, or you can play free-standing solos that will leave your listeners breathless! Hoe down, Campfire, Gospel, Blues, Sacred, and Children's tunes—all are in this book. Tunes like Flop Eared Mule, One Frosty Morning, Ragtime Annie, Black Mountain Rag, Crawdad Song, Bingo, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Skillet Good and Greasy, and Amazing Grace are just a few of the 100 tunes in this book. Also included are 3 harmonica tutorials to add further dimension to your playing!
In addition to the book, many FREE audio sing-alongs, solos and tutorials will show the student what the tunes should sound like. The free MP3s will allow you to put them on any type of digital device. Play the tunes through your smart phone or iPod while you're driving. Play them on your tablet for convenient listening. And double-click any tune to hear it on your computer. If learning to play the banjo is your goal, this book will show you how to get there.
