As the virus rapidly mutates, the worlds scientists are unable to keep pace
How a group of survivors, led by Lord Richard and Judith Ma´am, tackle the gradual breakdown of civilisation and the eventual end of the human race, over a period of 27 years.
There have been many books written about the end of civilisation, so this book isn't unique in that respect. Where it is unique, is that the subject of this book could actually happen, slowly, without any future human interference.
It's a story of perseverance, friendship, love, sadness and greed as a group of 27 strangers gradually come together trying to survive, whilst all around them others are dying from a world wide pandemic. It's a story of hope and despair with a twist in the tail.
In 2020, Covid -19 appeared. With unprecedented speed it spread throughout the world causing havoc and disruption never before seen in modern times. Covid was responsible for over 18 million fatalities worldwide in its first year . . . And it hasn't stopped!
At present we are able to keep on top of Covid's mutations. But what if the mutations multiply so quickly that science is unable to keep up. That's where hope ends, and '27' begins!
'27' illustrates the hopelessness fought by the UK Government, the Armed Forces and individuals to keep things going against all odds, as nature and the Covid pathogen in its many accelerating mutations take over . . . But the ending tells a different story.
