Synopsis

2014至2015年期間,由於擔任華府華文作協文書,按規定不得不執筆為作協每次活動寫新聞通稿,從此走進報導領域,也從此近距離見到了許多華府所臥之「虎」所藏之「龍」。2016年起擔任華府華文作協副會長以來,雖然通稿當由現任文書來寫、自己基本不再涉及,但出於濃厚的興趣與學習目的,自己同時還加入了其他一些華府文化藝術社會團體:書友會、詩友會、半杯清茶社、沈葆古籍今用課、音樂沙龍、口琴藝術團等等。或因其團體之需、或出於自己興之所至,但凡參加了活動,便時時或因邀為其寫報道、或自己因感慨而發稿;尤自2016年起任《世界日報》記者以來,更須時時帶責參加活動、書寫通訊...... 一來二去,不知不覺竟已積累了數十篇之多。

書中涵蓋者只有自己所寫的文字,不包括與他人合寫的內容,當然也不包括由我改寫並刊發在《世界日報》等報刊上的他人的稿件;另外,但凡為華府華文作協寫的通稿,文末都有「(華府作協通稿)」的字樣。須指出的是,華府作協通稿寫作中曾多次得到華府作協幹事會其他成員如前會長韓秀、龔則韞、前幹事陳湘君、現會長金慶松等的幫助和指正,在此衷心鳴謝。

並非所有的文章都是通稿。尤當組織活動的社團自己內部有人寫通稿時,為尊重對方、為避免有越俎代庖「偷取功名」之嫌,只能將行文口氣從內部通稿改爲客觀報導甚至短訊,雖然行文內容仍按自己通常的詳盡套路進行:時間、地點、演講者及其背景、主要內容的客觀綜述、會場狀況及「花絮」、照片取捨,等等。

並非所有文章內容都較長較細,如刊發在《世界日報》上的簡訊便字數不多,當然有時會附有大量照片加以說明。

也並非所有的文章都是關於演講的報導,本集還包括社團的活動報導,如作協或詩友社的年會、朗誦會等。尤自2016年底起,興致所至還參加了一些藝術性團體,如音樂沙龍、口琴藝術團等,得以設身處地強烈感受到海外華人相互間的協調與摯愛、充分折射出海外華人的多才多藝與對生命和人生的熱愛,由不得筆下自然流淌出點滴來並見諸於報端;加之後來被接收為《世界日報》記者,時時參與採訪、尤其是對華人社團的活動採訪,在向《世界日報》提供地方新聞或簡訊之餘,情之所至不由自主又另外寫出較為詳盡的活動報導、收錄刊發在其他地方版面或地方報刊之上,雖然這種情況將會更多地從2016年以後的報導中反映出來。這兩種稍有區別的內容導致本集文章被分為演講類和活動類兩大部分。

本集內所有拙作,均曾被採納在美國華盛頓地區各大中文報刊及中文新聞網上,如繁體字/正體字版的《華府新聞日報》、簡體字版的《新世界時報》或《美華商報》等,部分刊登在《星島日報》等報刊的版面上,這些多為原版文字、很少被刪改。而這些文字的刪節版則多刊登在《世界日報》地方版和《世界新聞網》上。

此集為第一集,收集的是2014年8月至2016年年底的報導文字。

Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Chiron Media, Wallingford, United Kingdom, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
