Add to basketTwelve, mostly 7.75" x 9.75" original photos that show mainly farm laborers in the 1940's. There are nine photos from Georgia and three from Mississippi. All are identified and many include the photographers, some of which are women. They include: Cotton Pickers by Louis C. Williams Making Hay by Dora Henley Gathering Nuts by Anthony V. Ragusen Peanut Vines by Wm. W. Lavendar Hoeing Cotton by Miss Bessie Walker Calloway Cloth Room in Cotton Mill by Ewing Galloway Cotton Field - no photo credit Women in Fields by Emil Sienknecht Peach Packing Shed by Emil Sienknecht Shaking Peanuts by Emil Sienknecht Harvesting Tobacco by H. Armstrong Roberts Loading Grain by Dr. Selby Cramer Two of the photos are mounted on cardboard, the others have glue stains indicating that they were once mounted as well. All of the photos have writing on the back and several have small slips of paper with typewritten descriptions as well. The Dealer I acquired these from, told me that they came from the magazine "Scenic South," which was published in Louisville, Kentucky. One photo has a tear and some have crop marks, otherwise they are in good condition.
